(TAP) - Tunisia and the African Development Bank (AfDB), on Wednesday, inked two grant agreements worth 1,867 million dinars, said the Economy, Finance and Investment Support Ministry.

The first agreement, amounting to 480 thousand dinars, is intended to finance a study on the development project of the northwest mountainous areas.

The second grant agreement, worth 1.387 million dinars, will be used to support the implementation of public-private partnership projects.

Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support Ali Kooli and the AfDB Director General for North Africa Mohamed El Azizi, who signed the agreements, discussed the bilateral financial cooperation programme for 2021 in terms of financing development and budget support projects.

They reviewed the results of the new strategy launched by the AfDB to develop the pharmaceutical industry in Africa, while working to support the technical, logistical and human capacities of companies active in this sector and establishing regional partnerships to boost cooperation in this area.

The AfDB and the Ministry will soon discuss practical steps to implement this strategy through a public-private partnership, the same source said.
