(TAP) - The mobile biosecurity laboratory under the Directorate General of Military Health will be installed in the governorate of Kairouan, the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement Tuesday. The decision was taken because of the high number of COVID-19 cases in the governorate, said the same source.

President Kais Saied has ordered to install this mobile laboratory to ensure better monitoring of the health situation in the region and the entire Tunisian territory, the Presidency added in the statement.

Coordination with local regional authorities has been put in place to provide the necessary equipment for this laboratory, according to the same source.

Local health director in Kairouan Mohamed Bourouis, described as 'very dangerous' the health situation in the governorate of Kairouan.
