(TAP)- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)'s programme Tunisia Jobs, Opportunities and Business Success (JOBS) organised a virtual event, 'Women Entrepreneurs Mentoring one-on-one Initiative' to celebrate Tunisian women in honour of International Women's Day.

The event, which introduced successful businesswomen to women entrepreneurs, saw mentors share their business expertise, best practices, and knowledge on how to successfully grow company.

At this webinar, women business owners and women entrepreneurs shared the many

ways the U.S. government funded project supported their businesses.

'As Tunisia's partner, the United States Government is committed to support women's efforts. USAID's programmes empower women to reinforce their position as an essential pillar of Tunisia's economy. We see them as an important asset for Tunisia's economic recovery. Tunisian women are self-confident, resilient, and dedicated, and we want to provide them with better business and employment opportunities,' said USAID Mission Director Peter Riley.

This initiative is part of the United States government commitment to support the economic inclusion of Tunisian women by creating a business network for women entrepreneurs in order to provide them with better business and employment activities.

Through USAID Tunisia JOBS, 10,400 jobs were created for women in the last 2 years. This represents over 60% of the total new job creations.
