Dinar depreciates against euro and dollar (BCT)

(TAP) - The exchange rate of the Tunisian dinar has depreciated sharply against the US dollar, since 1 dollar was worth 2.956 dinars on March 9, 2022 while it is now valued at 3.140 dinars, according to data published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) Monday.

The value of the dinar has also fallen against the euro. In fact, 1 euro is currently exchanged for 3.322 dinars, while a year ago it was worth 3.259 dinars.

On the other hand, the dinar's exchange rate has improved against the Japanese yen, as 1,000 Japanese yen is currently worth 22.843 dinars (while it was worth 25.318 dinars at the same time last year).

In addition, the BCT reported a decline in foreign exchange reserves to 95 days of imports (22.1 billion dinars) as of 13 March, compared to 128 days of imports (23.3 billion dinars) in the same period last year.

As for the money market rate (MMR), it continues its upward trend, reaching 8.08%, against 6.26%, on March 13, 2022.
