(TAP) - A Tunisian delegation composed of experts, specialists and 18 actors in the telecommunications and new technologies sector is participating in the 'Mobile World Congress' exhibition from February 27 to March 2 in Barcelona.

Led by the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX), this 10th consecutive participation aims to promote Tunisia as a technological destination and hub for startups.

It is also an opportunity to strengthen the positioning of Tunisian companies in the ICT sector at the international level, CEPEX said in a statement issued Monday.

Spread over an area of 74m², the Tunisian pavilion is located in the heart of the exhibition hall. Among the 18 Tunisian exhibitors are five startups participating thanks to the support of the Fondation Tunisie pour le Développement and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and five other startups with the support of Starti 4, an incubation and acceleration programme set up by Novation City with Expertise France and the EU Innov'i programme.

The participating operators have know-how in various fields such as cloud computing, digital marketing, mobile applications, solutions for telecom operators, payment solutions and mobile network control and monitoring.

The first day of the show allowed Tunisian exhibitors to present their know-how and to establish contacts with various structures and potential investors for possible partnerships, it was added.

Considered the must-attend event for the mobile phone and telecoms industry, the 2023 edition of Mobile World Congress will focus on different themes, namely Cloud services, 5G connection, Fintech, the latest advances in artificial intelligence and connected technologies.

The show will bring together over 2,000 of the industry's leading exhibitors and over 80,000 visitors from 200 countries to discover the latest trends and innovations in mobile technology over the four days of the exhibition.

The programme also includes several conferences with a panel of experts sharing their know-how and shaping the industry's future.
