February 6, 2023

(TAP)- Passenger numbers grew 42% to 165,734 in January compared to the same period last year, figures released Friday by Tunisair show.

The load factor stood at 72.9% against 70.6% in 2022 (+2.3 percentage points); the national carrier generated a turnover of TND 80.242 million.

European countries have a 68% market share with a total of 112,781 passengers. Middle East countries (11.6%) took the second spot with 19,144 passengers driven by the growth of Saudi and Egyptian markets and the continiuous development of the Turkish market.

The number of passengers from and bound for North America (Montreal) reached 3,175, while that from and to Maghreb and African countries reached 30,634.
