Tunisair: Load factor of 74.5% in 2022

(TAP)- The activity indicators of the national carrier Tunisair show a net growth of the load factor reaching 74.5% in 2022, i.e. up 8.3 points (66.2%) compared to 2021.

The carrier underlined in a press release on Friday, that it has managed to achieve promising indicators and positive results despite the difficulties thanks to the adopted measures.

Tunisair recalled in this connection, that it had taken delivery of four new A320neo aircraft in December 2021 and February, October and December 2022 to reinforce its fleet, adding that a 5th delivery will be made in the coming months.

The number of passengers served by the national carrier reached 2, 171,341, against 1,097,676 in 2022, i.e. a growth of 97.8% (1,073,665), compared to 2021 and of 117.7% compared to 2020 (1,174,097).

The European countries which account for 71.2% of passenger traffic, booked 1,552,296 passengers, North America (Montreal) 41,947 passengers, the Maghreb and African countries 359,496 passengers and the Middle East countries 217,602 passengers (10%), due to the growth of the Saudi and Egyptian markets and the continued development of the Turkish market.

In December 2022, the load factor reached 74.8%, compared to 70.5 in December 2021.

The number of passengers carried by the company reached 174,630 compared to 138,909 in December 2021, up 25.7%.
