Tunisia: BCT raises its key rate and rate of return on savings by 75 points

At its meeting held on December 30, 2022, the Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) reviewed the latest economic and financial developments and decided to raise the key rate of the Central Bank of Tunisia by 75 basis points to 8%.
To this end, the deposit and overnight lending facilities have been increased to 7% and 9%, respectively. This decision will come into effect from January 2, 2023.
The Board also decided to raise the minimum rate of interest on savings to 7%.
