(TAP) - Tunisia is the 6th most popular destination for French tourists, according to the barometer of destinations released in November by leisure platform 'Orchestra' for 'L’Echo Touristique.'

Tunisia slipped 2 spots compared to October leaving its 4th place to Morocco.

Sales on the French market grew by 5% compared to November 2019 and the average basket by 12% while Tunisia's two direct competitors were largely better.

According to the same source, the number of arrivals of French tourists fell by 2.5% compared to 2019. Tunisia hosted 787,421 French tourists at the end of November, down 6.5% compared to 2019.

The French market, which accounts for 46% of European arrivals, is a strategic and main market for Tunisian tourism.
