December 15, 2022

(TAP) - The Tunisian dinar continued to fall in the past months against the main foreign currencies, namely the Euro and the Dollar.

The Tunisian dinar is currently being traded at TND 3.170 against the US Dollar, against TND 2.904 in December 2021. Likewise, the value of 1 euro rose from TND 3.254 in Dec.2021 to TND 3.349 by Dec.12, 2022, the monetary and financial indicators released by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) show.

The national imports also edged up 33% to TND 75,445.5 million. The trade balance deficit widened to TND 23,281.1 million (+58.8%) over the past eleven months of 2022.

The BCT's monetary and financial indicators further reported a 31% increase in the overall refunding volume to TND 12.6 billion, while the overall interbanking transactions fell by 31.7% to TND 1.7 billion.
