TAP) - UK IT service provider Dune Technology Ltd had opened an office in Tunis, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA Tunisia) announced Wednesay.

The Tunisian subsidiary currently employs 13 engineers with different IT skills in web and mobile application development, along with DevOps and Cloud Services, with the goal of reaching 40 employees by the end of June 2023, FIPA added.

Dune Techology Ltd Founder and CEO Daniel Atherton explained that the choice of Tunisia lies in 'the quality of the engineering talent.'

'There is a high level of education across the country, with many graduates in the science and technology fields providing a strong talent pool from which to recruit great software developers and related roles,' he was quoted as saying by FIPA.

Atherton indicated that 'The tech scene is supported by the government as well as a host of NGOs, which makes for a very favourable business environment for tech companies operating in Tunisia.'

Likewise, he added: 'Tunis is only a 2.5 hour flight away and shares a timezone with the UK. That, combined with the high level of English spoken there, makes it easy to collaborate and work closely with UK based teams.»

FIPA-Tunisia supported and assisted Dune Technology Ltd throughout the process of setting up in Tunisia.
