Energy: New rise in fuel prices

November 24, 2022

TAP) - A new increase in fuel prices was announced Wednesday by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy and the Ministry of Trade and Export Development. It will come into effect from midnight on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

The new prices are as follows

- The 'unleaded super': 2525 millimes/litre

- Sulphur free gas oil: 2205 millimes/litre

- Gas oil: 1985 millimes/litre

- The 'unleaded first: 2855 millimes / litre

- The gas oil without sulphur super: 2550 millimes/litre.

This adjustment comes as a result of the fluctuation of energy prices on the international market due to the decline in supplies of petroleum products and the rise in their cost since the beginning of the year and the increase in the price of crude oil on the world market, which could reach the threshold of 100.5 dollars/barrel by the end of 2022, explain the Departments of Industry and Trade in a joint statement.

The objective of this adjustment is also to meet the local market demand for oil products, to ensure a regular supply and to avoid any disruption in the supply chain, according to the same source.

The two departments indicated that the prices of other oil products such as liquefied petroleum gas remain unchanged.
