IFT to hold international competition of innovative projects of Francophone women entrepreneurs

November 14, 2022

(TAP) - The French Institute of Tunisia (IFT) is holding on November 14 an international competition of innovative projects of Francophone women entrepreneurs, in partnership with the network 'TheNextWomenTunisie' and the initiative 'African Propaganda.'

The competition is organised within the framework of the «Village de la Francophonie,» which will be held from November 13 to 22 in Djerba on the theme 'Connectivity in diversity.'

The French Institute of Tunisia, partner of the Village de la Francophonie, said this event will be open to the public.

The competition will host female entrepreneurs from French-speaking countries, whose businesses were created more than a year ago and meet a social, cultural, technological or environmental need. Out of more than 300 candidates, 9 finalists from Mali, France, Tunisia, Senegal and Morocco have been shortlisted.

This initiative aims to create an opportunity for visibility, networking and promote synergies between female entrepreneurs and investors, public and private partners.

The Tunisian Village de la Francophonie is a gathering space focused on sharing and on cultural diversity; it is organised in the margins of the 18th Summit of the Francophonie, which will take place November 19 and 20 in Djerba. It will mix the plurality and richness of the Francophone heritage. In total, about sixty stands will furnish the Village. Cultural activities and artistic performances (singing, dancing, music, etc.) will enliven the Village thanks to the artistic stage that will be made available to Francophone artists and troupes.

Launched in May 2016, the Tunisian division of the international network TheNextWomen, which is based in the Netherlands, represents a place for reflection, sharing and networking that brings together more than 2,000 women entrepreneurs as well as Corporate profiles in all regions and working in various sectors of activity.

African Propaganda is a business group that aims to give voice to African innovators.
