Sousse sees improvement of tourism figures

(TAP) - The governorate of Sousse has recorded a significant increase in tourism figures during the period from October 21 to 31, 2022, in terms of the number of visitors and overnight stays, local tourism delegate, Taoufik Belgaied told TAP.

Indeed, the number of tourists who visited the Sousse-Kantaoui reached 29726 against 12879 during the same period of the year 2021, an improvement of 130.8%.

Similarly, the region has experienced an increase of nearly 220% in the number of overnight stays which amounted to 106865 against 33369 nights during the same period of the previous year.

In addition, the Tunisian domestic market has risen to first place in the number of visitors to the region (406835 visitors) since the beginning of the year, with an increase of 33.8%, followed by the Algerian market with 100161 tourists.

According to the same source, the last period was marked by the return of the traditional markets, including the French market with 49,564 visitors (increase of 487%), British 42,640 tourists and German 42,377 tourists (increase by 1000%).
