Embassy of Korea organises Start-up! Boost-up! Camp in Tunisia

October 31, 2022

(TAP)- The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tunisia is organising the 2022 Start-up! Boost-up! Camp in Tunisia programme on November 2-6.

The first edition seeks to develop a training programme for start-ups and help them access the African market.

As part of its development strategy on the African continent, the Korea-Africa foundation holds an annual 'start-up idea competition' with a view to encouraging Korean start-ups to seize opportunities and discover the ecosystem of start-ups.

This competition will also offer the opportunity to conduct field researches on the establishment of a base camp in Tunisia which will serve as a gateway to the African continent.

The first edition of the 2022 Start-up! Boost-up! Camp in Tunisia will be held in collaboration mainly with the Tunisian-Korean Chamber of Commerce (CCTC), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis and the StartUp Village.

This event will help start-ups network with African organisations and share experiences. It will likewise serve as a real bridge between Korean and Tunisian start-ups to attain their goals and foster international competitiveness.

A better understanding of the African market and the ecosystem of the continent as a whole is sought.

Start-ups will have the opportunity to conduct research into the feasibility of various projects by teaming up with local start-ups so as to share experiences.

This is a five-day programme which targets ten Korean start-ups, as many from Tunisia and five African start-ups. More than twelve experts in a wide array of fields will also participate.
