Rekik took note of a number of problems related to the agricultural sector, including the connection to the irrigation network. This is part of a series of visits to examine problems related to state and private properties, he said, adding his department has recovered nearly 90,000 hectares of state land that have been mostly reused. The minister highlighted the successful experience in Réjim Mâatoug, which allowed converting arid Saharan lands into oases. They were then allocated to inhabitants through long-term rental contracts. He pledged to solve land problems concerning the craft village “El Ferdaous,” which includes 10 shops. The land was converted from agricultural to non-agricultural, which will help transfer the property to artisans. The department is committed to begin soon the operation of the one-stop shop located in the delegation of Réjim Mâatoug, the Minister added. During the visit in south Douz, Rekik said that the “Esmida” farm, located between the regions of Nouil and Zafrane has been assigned to the state, which charged the technical centre of dates to carry out various experiments that will benefit farmers in the region and strengthen the profitability of oases. The Local Directorate of State Property and Land Affairs is working to combat uncontrolled expansion through evacuation decisions, the Minister pointed out.
