The “Banque de Tunisie” (BT) has maintained a profitable growth trajectory and showed resilience during the first half of the current year.

According to the interim financial statements closed on June 30, 2022, the BT has achieved a net profit of 65.8 million dinars, against 45.7 million at the end of the first half of the past year, up 44%.

This growth is due to the increase in operating income at a higher rate than that of expenses. Indeed, the bank has seen its operating income jump by 10% to 324.2 million dinars, while operating expenses have risen by 8% to 119.7 million dinars.

In addition, provisions on receivables and liabilities decreased by more than 10 million dinars from 41.7 million dinars at the end of June 2021 to 31.3 million dinars at June 30.

As for personnel costs, they reached 46.5 million dinars, against 43.4 million a year earlier, while general operating expenses amounted to 18.3 million dinars, against 16.1 million at the end of June 2021.

In this respect, the operating result for the period is up by 35% to 102.9 million dinars, against 76.3 million a year earlier.
