Tourism indicators in Jendouba post 83% rise -Tunisia

TAP)- Tourism indicators in Jendouba posted a 83% rise from August 11 to 20, Local Tourism Commissioner Isaa El Marouani said.

Nearly 13,813 tourists visited the region compared to 7,549 during the same period last year, he said.

Tabarka/Ain Drahem tourist area saw the number of bednights grow 64.8%, that is 35, 223 bednights against 21,371 during the same period in 2021, Marouani added.

The number of visitors in the period from January 1 to August 20 edged up 59.8% from 78,547 tourists in 2021 to 125,553. The number of bednights followed suit, growing from 167,166 in 2021 to 270,248.

Domestic tourists outnumbered foreign visitors with 109,875, followed by Algerians (8,291 tourists) and Libyans (2,469), the official underlined.
