(TAP) – Prime Minister Najla Bouden, on Tuesday, met with Algeria's Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Yacine Hammadi, who is making a working visit to Tunisia from August 2 to 4 on the 5th session of the Tunisian-Algerian sectoral tourism commission.

Bouden called for holding the 6th session of the Tunisian-Algerian technical commission in the handicrafts field, as soon as possible. She said she was looking forward to seeing bilateral cooperation in the tourism field be further strengthened, particularly after the two countries' land borders were opened.

The Algerian Minister, for his part, said various issues will be discussed during the commission's work, including the support to tourism training and the creation of a Tunisian-Algerian tourism training facility.

He emphasised the need to overcome the difficulties hindering the development of bilateral tourism, notably through the rehabilitation of hotel facilities in both countries and the promotion of family tourism.

He also stressed the need to develop tourism in the border regions and to promote alternative tourism between the two countries.

Yacine Hammadi emphasised his country's willingness to take advantage of the Tunisian experience in land investment, suggesting the creation of agencies in charge of the development of industrial, residential and tourist zones.
