Cabinet adopts draft amendment to decree establishing Gender Equality Peer Council

TAP) - A cabinet meeting, held Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Najla Bouden, adopted a series of legislative and presidential decrees, including the decree on the amendment of the decree establishing the Peer Council for Gender Equality and the decree on the amendment of the decree setting the programmes of the national employment fund.

The Cabinet meeting adopted the draft presidential decree on the amendment of the draft government decree 626 for the year 2016 dated May 25, 2016, on the establishment of the Peer Council for Gender Equality, says a statement issued by the Prime Ministry.

The Peer Council for Gender Equality works to integrate the gender approach in the planning, scheduling and assessment and budget to fight against all forms of discrimination between men and women and to ensure equality in rights and obligations.

The cabinet meeting also adopted the draft presidential decree amending Government Decree No. 2019-542 of May 28, 2019, which sets out the programmes of the national employment fund and the conditions and modalities of their benefit.

The national employment fund comprises several programmes, including the programme of contract of initiation to professional life, the programme of the Al Karama contract, the programme of the civil service contract, the 'Forsti' programme and the programme of support for small business promoters.
