Bouden backs Bilel Jamoussi’s candidacy for position of Director of ITU Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau

TAP) – Prime Minister Najla Bouden reaffirmed her support for the candidacy of Tunisian international expert Bilel Jamoussi for the position of Director of the Telecommunications Standardisation Bureau at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for the period 2023-2026.

At a meeting Tuesday in Kasbah with the candidate, Bouden reminded that Tunisia has always supported its experts in the context of the concretization of the national strategy for the employment of Tunisian experts in high international and regional positions serving the country’s interest.

For his part, Bilel Jamoussi highlighted the support of the Prime Minister for his candidacy for the position of Director of the Office of Standardization at the ITU, 'expressing his commitment 'to represent Tunisia in the best way possible, as soon as he is elected.”

Bilel Jamoussi is Chief of the Study Groups Department at the International Telecommunication Union Standardization Bureau in Geneva Switzerland.

He holds a doctorate in engineering and computer science, specializing in 'telecommunications networks', and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

The Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau (TSB) provides secretariat services to the ITU-T study groups using sophisticated electronic working methods and state-of-the-art facilities in Geneva, in all six official languages of the Union (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).
