Medenine: Flights resume between airports of Djerba-Zarzis and Mitiga in Libya

(TAP) - The international airport Djerba-Zarzis has received, Thursday, a flight from the airport of Mitiga in Libya, with 97 passengers on board, among political figures, businessmen and representatives of agencies active in the tourism sector.

The resumption of this line, with an irregular flight that will be provided at a rate of twice a week, will have a positive impact on tourism activity in the region, said Regional Commissioner of Tourism in Medenine Hichem Mahouachi, noting the importance of the Libyan market as a proximity market that promotes short stays as well as business and medical tourism.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Tourism in Libya, Mustapha Boubaker Charmit said that the region of Djerba is a destination of choice for the Libyan market which has more than 700 tourist travel agencies, mentioning the possibility of increasing the frequency of the flight Mitiga to Djerba-Zarzis according to the demand.
