Average money market rate up to 6.6% in May 2022 (BCT)

June 2, 2022

(TAP)- The average money market rate was up to 6.6% in May 2022, against 6.26% in March and April, 6.25% in February and 6.19% in January 2022, according to the latest statistics released Wednesday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

This is explained by the increase in the BCT's key rate by 75 basis points to 7%, decided on May 17, 2022, by its Board of Directors, in order to mitigate the risks to inflation dynamics and the external sector's balance in the coming period.

The average money market rate has not exceeded 6.30% since October 2022.
