Carthage Cement improves total turnover by 29% in 2021

TAP)-Carthage Cement closed the year 2021 with a total turnover of 325 million dinars (MD), i.e. up 29% compared to 2020 and 30% compared to 2019 (reference year).

The company also quadrupled its export sales, increasing the export turnover from 8.936 MD in 2020 to 47.650 MD in 2021, according to a press release issued by the company Wednesday.

The annual production of clinker and cement recorded a 12% and 22% increase respectively, compared to the previous year, reaching 1.486 million tons of clinker and 1.782 million tons of cement.

This performance helped Carthage Cement to keep its leading position on the local market by achieving a 14% rise in the local market turnover compared to 2020.

A strong recovery was also recorded at the level of export (cement and clinker), since the turnover was quadrupled from 8.936 MD in 2020 to 47.650 MD in 2021, a 433% growth.

At the end of 2021, the production of aggregates improved by 16% and the related turnover increased by 6% to 15.866 MD in 2021.

The turnover of the concrete activity also improved by 10% to 11.868 MD against 10.835 MD in 2020 and this in spite of the decline posted at the level of the ready-mixed concrete sector.

The company's investments stood at 21.477 MD on December 31st, 2021 and its debt fell by 5.25% compared to 2020, to 412.693 MD.

The company honoured all its outstanding financial commitments in 2021 within the deadlines, according to the same source.
