Tunisia: rescheduling of TUNISAIR debt with banks, Treasury and its suppliers

March 28, 2021

National carrier TUNISAIR will be able to breathe a little financially, pending the resumption of activity.

This was revealed by Moez Chakchouk, Minister of Transport and Logistics at his hearing by the parliamentary Committee on administrative reform, good governance, the fight against corruption and the management control of public funds.

In March 2020, TUNISAIR had already been able to reschedule its debt -until September 2021- with local banks and the general treasury, and which amounts to 446 million dinars.

In addition, the credit of 472 million dinars -contracted in 2014 to finance the purchase of aircraft- is being repaid with the help of the state. Which guarantees 80% of the credits contracted by TUNISAIR.
