September 24, 2020

(TAP)- A part of a 650,000 dinar grant made by the European Union (EU) under the Regional Initiative to Support Sustainable Economic Development (IRADA) will be committed by the South Development Office and the governorate of Gafsa to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) affected by the COVID-19.

Target businesses are formal and operational MSME in manufacturing industries, services, handicrafts and agriculture that employ 1 to nine people in addition to the manager or the owner with a minimum slump of 50% in turnover in Q1 compared to the same period last year.

Sectors and industries that did not go into lockdown are excluded along with recipient enterprises under the government decree n° 164 of April 14, 2020. The grant ceiling for recipient businesses is 3,200 dinars.

IRADA is a cooperation programme funded by the European bloc and carried out by the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation and the Vocational Training and Employment department.

It is designed to contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic development and increase employability in eight governorates, namely Bizerte, Gabès, Gafsa, Jendouba, Kasserine, Médenine, Sidi Bouzid and Sfax.
