Hammamet plays host to 1st congress of audiology and audioprosthesis

TAP) - The National Chamber of Tunisian Audioprosthetists, under the Confederation of Health (UTICA) is organising the first congress of audiology and audioprosthesis in Tunisia, from September 2 to 4, 2022, in cooperation with the Advanced Arab Audiovestibular Academy (4A).

Mouna Zouari Melliti, President of the Chamber said at the opening of the Congress despite the great medical expertise in hearing health in Tunisia, reflected in the use of the cochlear implantation and the creation of a specialised department at the College of Health Sciences and Techniques, some specialties relating to the evaluation and correction of hearing disorders are still unknown in the country, and need to be studied.

She, as such, called for the revision of the Terms of Reference relating to the exercise of the profession of audioprothesist to adapt to developments in technology and research in this area and to intensify training in this field.

This congress is an opportunity to learn about the techniques used in developed countries to treat hearing disorders and advances in audiology, she further indicated.
