Tunisia to host international symposium on new and emerging technologies

TAP)-Tunisia will host on September 5-7, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Emerging Surveillance Technologies Symposium, on new and emerging technologies in the field of recognition, surveillance, cybersecurity and control towers in civil and military aviation, said International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations (IFATSEA) North Africa Strategy Officer Khaled Nsiri.

He added in a statement to TAP that major aircraft manufacturers such as 'Airbus' and 'Boeing' will take part in this event in addition to the participation of dozens of international experts from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Organised at the initiative of the Tunisian Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (ATENA), this symposium will also see the participation of international organisations such as the ICAO, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, etc.

The goal is to offer the opportunity to share experiences and ideas with international experts and to learn about comparative experiences in the field of safety of electronic air navigation in order to ensure greater safety of aircraft traffic in the Tunisian airspace, Nsiri pointed out.
