July 5, 2021

(TAP) - The 'CREATIVE HUB', a professional group of the Tunisian Confederation of Citizen Enterprises (CONECT), which hosts Tunisian creative and digital technology entrepreneurs, announced on Thursday that two of its members, 'DESIGN LAB' and 'MORBIKET', are the winners of the first African Challenge for cultural and creative industries.

This programme was initiated as part of the Africa 2020 Season in France, by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN) with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD ), the French Institute and Africa in Colours.

These African start-ups will benefit from unique support during one year, thanks to which they will be able to test their projects in the monuments of the CMN and take advantage of this world-renowned expertise.

They will also have the opportunity to develop their offer on the French cultural market.

The CREATIVE HUB affirms that 'the Tunisian triumph is total since another Tunisian startup, EDUC'ART, is among the winners', underlining that 'this award and this international recognition honour the daily work of the Tunisian digital creative startups and of the CREATIVE HUB, which make our country one of the most creative and innovative on the African continent, in one of the key sectors of the industry of the future'.

There were initially 362 startups, and the final four included 9 startups from Tunisia, 1 from Senegal, 1 from Mali, 2 from Ivory Coast, 1 from South Africa, 1 from Togo, and 1 from DRC. In addition, among the 16 finalists, there were 12 women, CONECT said.

The winners are:

DESIGN LAB highlights monuments, using new digital techniques, including video mapping.

EDUC'ART, which develops eco-responsible construction games enriched with educational and fun content in augmented reality.

MORBIKET, which produces digital content to animate, in augmented reality, paper media for young audiences.
