House price index sees 10.9% increase in Q4 2020 (INS)
TAP) - The house price index saw a 10.9% increase in the 4th quarter of 2020, compared to the same period of the previous year, due in particular to the increase in house prices by 18.4% and land for construction by 11.9%, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) Friday.
As for apartment prices, they have risen at a lower rate (+6.3%).
For the whole year 2020, the house price index (base year 2015) went up 5.7%, compared to 2019. In fact, land and house prices grew by 4.8%, while apartment prices rose by 4.4%.
The INS also reported a 15.8% decline in real estate transactions in 2020 compared to 2019. This regression mainly affected transactions on apartments (-19.2%) and houses (-18.7%).
Land transactions decreased by 14.9%.
