Taboubi calls on next government to prioritise phosphate issue in its agenda

(TAP)- Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Noureddine Taboubi, on Sunday, called on the next government to include phosphate among the priority issues on its agenda so that it can resume its activity and recover its usual level of production.

Speaking at the ordinary congress of the local labour union in Skhira Sunday, Taboubi said the government must give the necessary support to the phosphate issue and mobilise to create conditions to enable all plants to resume their activities. He also stressed the need to speed up the rescue of the Gafsa Phosphate Company and the resumption of exports.

Taboubi also called on all stakeholders parties to develop a genuine strategy to find solutions to make up for lost time.

During his visit to the Tunisian-Indian Fertiliser Company in Skhira, the trade union leader stressed the importance of the role of this company in the national economy.

He emphasised the need to help this company to reach the maximum level of production.
